I am so happy there is such a thing as a blood bank for our babies. They need all the help they can get. I got Cocoa from the Humane Society of Dorchester Co. He is a Choclolate Lab and he is the sweetest dog. He loves my older lab, the kitties, my grandchildren and everyone that he meets. He is such a happy dog. We are so lucky we found each other. Thank you so much for this great cause you are letting us be a part of.

I think it's so wonderful that the Blood Bank is here to help and save! I am a veterinary Technician and have worked at several of the animal hospitals (Bayside) that have been involved...and it has made me realize how much i would love to be involved to work with them. Let me know if you would be interested in me! Thank you, Beth

Our Phoebe has been donating for several years now and she knows as soon as we turn into the Vet's office what she is there to do. We hear good reports of how cooperative she is and just gets the job done! Thank you EVBB for all you do for the animal world, it is a great service.

Pearson (a greyhound) knows almost instinctively when it's blood donation time - there's a prance to his step and his long tail scarcely pauses in its constant whipping about as we head off to the clinic. He loves visiting his friends (who are apparently expert cuddlers as he's lying on the table giving blood) and the endless supply of treats. I'm pretty sure he thinks EVBB is his reward for good behavior. Thanks for making helping other animals such a positive experience for us both!

Thanks for always being so nice to Punx (Animal Med. Center-Cascades). He is always nervous, but he and I appreciate everyone being so sweet to him! He will continue donating until he is 8! Thanks!

Thank you for letting Brody be a blood donor. Since we adopted him from a Rott rescue, Brody has tried to give back and help save others. He's glad the doctor not scared of his "talking". We will see you again in Jan at Briggs Adoption Center.

To the donor dogs I need to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. My dear girl's life was saved by your generous donations of blood. You are forever in our hearts, thank you.

Smokey gets so excited to see "Aunt Jackie," whoever greets him. All he has to do is go (his favorite) and eat nonstop treats (another favorite). Perfect for him, for EVBB, and for sick dogs who need help. I'm so glad that we learned about EVBB.

A big THANK YOU to all of the EVBB staff members for making the blood donation process a wonderful event for the dogs. My three Greyhounds - Josh, Patch, and Steel - love all the treats and lovin' they get when they donate. It makes it much bearable for Josh for he hates the vets office. It makes me happy to know that my guys can give back to the dog community and help those in need. Keep up the GREAT work.

My dog "Clark" loves going to the blood bank, not just for the cookies, but because of all the friends that he meets and that he knows that he's really helping someone in the long run. I beleive that this is one of the best things that someone could ever think up to help the pets that are in need!!

What you are doing is WONDERFUL! I am disappointed that I did not know about your services sooner. My Bruno (Rot mix) just celebrated his 8th birthday; as a puppy he had the Parvo-virus and the blood transfussion helped to save his life. If Bruno was younger I think he would be more than happy to help another doggy friend. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK! I will keep you in my prayers.

5/16/06 My rescued Greyhound, Mandie, has donated several times now. She loves the treats (as does Rex, her Greyhound companion), and does well. It turns out her blood type makes her a universal donor, which delights me! She just had her 7th birthday, so may be eligible to donate one more time in July. The EVBB staff are wonderful! Keep up the good work!!!

I think what you do is great. To actually have a place that specializes in canine blood donation is wonderful. I work at a local 24 hr emergency animal hospital and my 4 yo Xena (rottweiler) is a current blood donor and My 8 yo Nikki (also rotti) is a retired blood donor. It is such a simple procedure and both girls are pro's now. The best part is they get to hang out with Mom while I am at work. Keep up the great work!

Wonderful things you are doing for our doggie friends. I have 5 Goldens and three little strays that live with us, but so far I as I know, there are no Dog Blood Banks here in OK. I work for the Oklahoma Blood Institute so I was quite amazed by your Canine Blood Bank. Keep up the Good Work

A great big thanks for taking such good care of Happy Jack and (first time donor) Brandi, at Canine Mind in Prince Frederick. I know Jack likes to help out and I really think Brandi had a good time, especially with all the treats she gets. She eats Jack's share.

Two years ago, my beloved cat Spice had cancer and received blood products to help her enjoy her final year with us. I always wondered how to thank someone for this. My two dogs just completed their first donation last week, just days after my other much adored cat, Sugar, passed away unexpectedly. I feel Bristol and Sadie are honoring the memory of their playmates. With caring staff and a great mission, we are fortunate to have EVBB.

As an employee of the EVBB, I just read all of the comments on this page, and I want to thank you all for your support. It makes me feel wonderful how far the word is spreading on the importance of HUMANE blood banking. Animals give us a lot. It is good to know so many people want to help give back.

My 8 year old Sheltie had emergency surgery to remove a kidney with a 15 cm tumor on 8/6/2004. She received 250 ml of packed red blood cells and without them she would have died. My and her heart says THANK YOU to all the donors that make this possible.

I had my "mom", arlene malay, type this message for me. I donated my first unit of blood this morning! It was such a wonderful experience. I was able to keep my security bunny with me! The vet and her tech were so calming and caring. Knowing that I will help to save the life of a canine "cousin" makes me and my "mom" feel wonderful. I look forward to many years of donating to a great grup of caring and loving people.

THIS SITE IS WONDERFUL. I AM SUCH AN ANIMAL LOVER. I WATCH LOTS OF ANIMAL RESCUE SHOWS ON TV. I HAVE ALWAYS WONDERED WHERE INJURED ANIMALS GET BLOOD FROM. I HAVE VERY INTELEGANT FRIENDS INLUDING A NURSING PROFESSOR. I MYSELF USED TO BREED BASSET HOUNDS. I HAVE ASKED MANY PEOPLE WHEN ANIMALS GET INJURED AND NEED BLOOD WHERE DOES IT COME FROM ? NOBODY SEEMS TO KNOW. MAKING LIGHT OF THE QUESTION, I FINALLY DECIDED (NOT SERIOUSLY) THAT SOMEWHERE THERE MUST BE ANIMALS LYING ON A TABLE VOLUNTERALY GIVING BLOOD FOR THIER FRIENDS. I HAD NO IDEA THIS COULD REALLY BE TRUE. THIS IS FANTASTIC. WHY ARE THERE NOT NOTICES IN VETS OFFICES ABOUT THE WONDERFUL SERVICE YOU PROVIDE. I AM SURE MORE PEOPLE WOULD HELP IF ONLY THEY KNEW. SIGNED AN ADMIRER OF YOUR WONDERFUL WORK.

Superb Idea! You need to get the message out to more vets though. I am reading the guestbook and am amazed at how many folks never knew this was available. I have worked for 2 Vets recently and they had no information whatsover on this.

So nows the time for them to help save a life or two. Thanks to research & veterinary facilities like yours our babies have a better chance at living life to the fullest! Thanks again for the WONDERFUL work you're doing! We're looking forward to meeting you in person,so we can help a little.
