Katrina Disaster Relief

The Staff of the Eastern Veterinary Blood Bank (EVBB) was overwhelmed by the tremendous response from the local community to provide items in need for animals displaced by Hurricane Katrina. Staff from the EVBB and Staff from the National Humane Education Society (NHES - Briggs Animal Adoption Center) loaded a 16 foot truck (full to capacity) with items donated from the local community on Thursday, September 22nd. The truck full of items will be delivered by NHES animal care personnel to the Lamar Dixon Expo Center in Gonzales, Louisiana (which is presently being used as a temporary staging area for animals coming from the New Orleans area).
